Release notes and notable changes, newest first. Currently on v4.8.2.

v4.8.2 Color contrast and readability Fixes
- Text, badges, links, and status messages across the site now meet WCAG AA contrast, so they stay legible for low-vision readers and in bright light.
- Custom accent colors stay readable automatically. Whatever accent you pick for your profile, Bitsy derives a readable shade for accented text and chooses light or dark button labels to match, so nothing washes out, even with pale colors like yellow or pink.
- Custom profile backgrounds keep your content readable. Cards, modals, and the footer now sit on a surface opaque enough to hold their contrast over any background color or gradient you set.
- Asset icon tiles choose a readable letter color. When an asset has no coin logo, its monogram adapts to the tile color or gradient instead of always being white, so the letter stays visible on light tiles.
- Focus outlines, form-field borders, and placeholder text were strengthened so they are clearly visible, including a solid focus ring that stays distinct against pale accent colors.
- The embeddable profile widget and the standalone address-verification page received the same contrast treatment, down to their fields and row icons.
v4.8.1 Privacy, accessibility, and metadata hardening Fixes
- Deleting your account now removes all associated data, including vouches you issued or received, your private People you pay list, and any pending signing challenges.
- Public profile pages now describe the specific profile in search results and link previews instead of falling back to the generic site description.
- Interactive form controls carry stable identifiers for cleaner browser and assistive-technology behavior.
v4.8 Vouches, compromise notices, payment requests, and a saved pay list Feature
- Vouches, a signed web of trust. Other Bitsy profiles can vouch for yours with a statement signed by the key that controls their own profile. You approve which vouches appear on your page, and anyone can verify the signature behind each one.
- Signed compromise notices. If a key or address is ever exposed, flag one address or your whole profile as compromised. It writes a signed entry into your public chain, shows a loud do-not-send warning on the page, and notifies anyone watching. A full profile burn can be authorized by your signing key, or by a passkey if that key is lost.
- Payment-request links. Turn a receiving address into a shareable link or QR that carries the exact asset, amount, and memo, so a payer sends precisely what you asked for. Still fully self-custodial: your address plus metadata, with no custody and no new accounts.
- People you pay, a private list visible only to you. Save the profiles you send to for quick repeat payments, and switch on optional email alerts to be warned if any of them change their receiving addresses.
- People you pay, now sortable. The list orders alphabetically by default, and you can drag any saved profile into a custom order.
- Show more on long lists. Saved people, your assets, the addresses under each asset, payment history, and vouches now start compact and expand on demand, so a busy profile stays quick to scan. Search engines and screen readers still receive the full list.
- A status note over your profile picture. Add a short note that appears in a bubble above your picture, separate from your bio, and choose how long it stays, from an hour up to a month or until you remove it.
v4.7 Cosmos addresses and ownership verification Feature
- Receive on Cosmos-SDK chains including Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Celestia, Juno, Akash, dYdX, Injective, and Sei.
- Prove ownership of a Cosmos address by signing an ADR-036 message in Keplr, earning the same Ownership Verified badge as Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Solana.
- Every Cosmos address is validated by its bech32 checksum, so a mistyped or malformed address is caught before a payer ever sees it.
- Cosmos addresses use the same per-asset grouping, Preferred address, and drag-to-reorder as every other chain.
v4.6 Verification hardening and UI polish Security
- Bitcoin ownership verification now passes the full BIP-322 specification test vectors, including modern SegWit (bc1q) and Taproot (bc1p) signatures.
- Cross-checked Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin signature verification against real signatures, with anti-malleability protections confirmed.
- Frosted-glass surfaces render consistently across Safari and iOS.
- Even spacing and alignment fixes across panels, the navigation bar, and form controls.
v4.0 Passkeys, profile watching, and public-email verification Feature
- Sign in with passkeys (WebAuthn) as a faster, phishing-resistant alternative to passwords.
- Visitors can watch a profile and be notified about important changes.
- Public contact email can now be verified, showing a Verified Owner badge beside it.
- Stronger email and domain validation throughout sign-up and account changes.
v3.0 Signed manifests and the verification page Feature
- Each profile can publish a signed manifest binding its receiving addresses to a wallet signature.
- A standalone verification page lets anyone check an ownership proof or profile manifest independently.
- Copy Receipt: a signed attestation of exactly which address a profile served you, kept as provenance.
v2.0 Addresses, embeds, and analytics Feature
- Group multiple receiving addresses per asset, with a Preferred address and drag-to-reorder.
- Embeddable profile widget for placing your Bitsy on other sites.
- Privacy-first analytics: visit and copy statistics with no raw IP addresses stored.
